mdi’s Edge Hydrophobic Cellulose Nitrate (EHCN) Membranes feature a hydrophilic center area surrounded by a 6 mm hydrophobic edge which prevents seepage under the rim of the filter holder. The hydrophobic edge ensures complete removal of the drug during flushing so that growth of any microorganisms which have been retained on the membrane is not inhibited due to the drug residue. This improves the sensitivity and reliability of the test.
