Chlormadinone is occasionally used as a contraceptive but also treats benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In bone marrow stem cells, chlormadinone promotes osteoblast differentiation and Ca2+ deposition.
