BAA473 (11-oxo-12S-hydroxy lithocholic acid methyl ester) is a more potent analog of microbiome metabolite BAA485 (12-oxolithocholic acid) that activates the Pyrin inflammasome in myeloid and intestinal epithelial cells. BAA473 potently induces secretion of IL1beta and IL18 in LPS-primed PBMCs and THP-1 cells.
