Purity: ≥95% (SDS-PAGE)
Analysis Note: The activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of rat lymphoma line Nb2-11 cells (prolactin indicator cell line).
Preparation Note: HumanKine, Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is expressed as a non-glycosylated monomer in human HEK 293 cells and has an apparent molecular mass of 22 kDa.
Legal Information: HumanKine is a registered trademark of HumanZyme Inc.
Biochem/physiol Actions: HGH is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones. HGH is produced from the pituitary gland and is required for normal human growth and development. HGH modifies a variety of physiological functions by stimulating the expression of insulin-like growth factor I, and increases calcium retention and bone mineralization. HGH increases muscle mass, promotes lipolysis, and reduces liver uptake of glucose.
Empirical Formula (Hill Notation): C7H5ClO
