Biochem Physiol Actions: Voriconazole is an antifungal used to treat serious fungal infections. Voriconazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis by inhibiting CYP450-dependent 14-alpha sterol demethylase resulting in a depletion of ergosterol in fungal cell membranes.
