B.Q.Vaccine Medium (Thioglycollate Broth w/ HL Extract) is recommended for mass cultivation of anaerobes for the vaccine production. The medium is highly nutritive due to the presence of Peptone, HL infusion and HMM infusion. Sodium thioglycolate acts as a reducing agent and enables the obligate anaerobes to multiply.
- Appearance: Cream to yellow homogeneous free flowing powder
- Color and Clarity of prepared medium: Amber colored, clear to very slightly opalescent solution
- Reaction of 3.0% w/v aqueous solution at 25°C. pH : 8.2±0.2
- Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35-37°C for 18-48 hours
