General description: Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors (MCSFs) are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. MCSF induces cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage. MCSF plays a role in immunological defenses, bone metabolism, lipoproteins clearance, fertility and pregnancy.
Biochem/physiol Actions: The gene encoding macrophage colony-stimulating factor (MCSF) is located on human chromosome 1p13.3. It is a glycosylated polypeptide which exists as a homodimer.
Physical form: Lyophilized from a PBS solution.
Reconstitution: Reconstitute in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free, recombinant human serum albumin.
Preparation Note: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
