Chlorite is a metamorphic mineral that has undergone light alteration. During metasomatism, phyllosilicate minerals may become hydrated and form chlorite. The greener color and near-soapy feel of chlorite distinguishes it from other phyllosilicates at a glance, and the presence of water distinguishes it chemically. This samples is perfect for lessons on metamorphism, mineral alteration, and general identification exercises. Samples are approximately 1" long and come in a labeled plastic bag. Pack of 12 samples.
